Baby Jake came into this world! From day one I’ve been loud, loving, and perfect.
Ok, maybe not perfect, but excellence is a passion of mine. From a young age, I have been detail-oriented, a little bit of a perfectionist, a lover of all things music, compassionate, and obsessed with technology.
By the age of 14, I had played violin, harmonica, piano, recorder (ask me about my Lion’s Club award from 5th grade), alto sax, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and bass guitar. I loved playing football & basketball, cracking jokes, making silly videos with my brother and my friends, and mastering a few video games. By that same age, I had created beats, loops & tunes with GarageBand, torn apart 2 of my parents old laptops, burnt CD’s, watched days worth of YouTube content on building a PC, and had been involved in three church plants.

It wasn’t until I was 16 that I unlocked the confidence to sing, developed my love and passion for the theater, finally got my hair off of my forehead, and touched a sound console.
I always had the opportunity to use my talents and developed skills for church, but for the rest of my high school years, it all snowballed. I was regularly on the worship team playing bass, singing, playing guitars, running sound, setting up & tearing down. I helped teach lessons in children’s church—serving double duties for a season. At school, I was singing baritone in the concert choir (2x Oregon State CHAMPIONS), starring in musicals, operating follow spots, helping with rigging, part of the run crew, and mixing sound for summer events. I would play guitar for my friends’ open mic nights, and I even played bass in a band with my peers! For the first time, I took a class three times! My high school offered a class where we got to help teach a preschool for local children, and I couldn’t get enough of it!
All of this lead me to apply to Bushnell University (formerly Northwest Christian University), in Eugene, Oregon. For the first semester, I was pulled between 3 majors: Teacher Education, Worship Arts, and Music Industry. Quickly, I became deeply invested in the School of Music & Performing Arts, singing in the University Choir, singing in the Concert Choir, and playing electric bass in the Jazz & Pep bands. By spring, I had also scored the lead role in the musical, and received an invitation to join the six-person a cappella group. All the while, playing bass guitar and singing weekly at Harrisburg Christian Church. With this involvement, plus the fact that I didn’t enjoy homework enough to assign it for a living, my potential majors had narrowed down to two. After a short while, I declared my major in Music Industry and began to hone my crafts in live sound, lighting design, video production, audio post production, and anything else I could get my hands on.
Since then, I’ve been continuing my acquisition of experience and knowledge in the worlds of church, higher education, and corporate events.
I married the love of my life in May of 2021, and after one year, we moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she is studying as a doctoral student in clinical psychology. After we settled in, I began work with Encore Global as an Event Technician in the city’s top conference hotel. Early on, I found myself considered as an up and coming leader, but did not enjoy being in such a large company, so I began looking elsewhere. In January 2023, I began working as the Director of Event Technology for Markey’s. Here, I have been leading my team to success in events for a large variety of satisfied clients—from sewing conventions to corporate conferences to a decked out lounge for MLB prospects.
I am blessed with this life, and I look forward to adding more to this page.
